A slow gradual climb from the flatlands of Hallam to the mountain village of Belgrave. Get the train of bus to Hallam and begin your walk. We are roughly following the High tension powerline easement for some time. The actual easement offers no easy path so I stayed to roads where possible. After Troups Creek wetlands the suburban blocks become larger and a sense of sub rural living opens up. The Lysterfield lake park offers a forest landscape. Toilets and water are available here. Good fews are afforded from the granite tors overlooking the Monbulk creek basin. At Nixons road we now follow the Monbulk creek, entering Birdsland reserve. The final pinch along Lovers lane to belgrave village is testing.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
