Mercer Bay And Sea Caves
Only do this at low tide and with a mellow sea.
Use the satellite view to spot where the track leaves the council path and heads off down the old slip. Then just be careful and take your time. When heading down, if in doubt, keep left.
There is a cave opposite where the track reaches the beach. It is about 70 meters long, you will need to use a torch, your phone should be sufficient. Look out for seals,! If there are any there you will smell them before you see them. Turn around if you encounter any.
If you do make it through the cave to the sea-ward side then head out towards the water and hang a right. There is another cave heading back in. Head into here to find an epic cathedral-type cave.
