DIRECTIONS

Starting at Alice Park car park, turn right out of the gates and follow the road gently up.

Turn right into Bailbrook Lane.

Turn left after the motorway, look for a white sign with No 41 and an arrow pointing left. (It's not obvious when you go over the motorway).

Take the second left turn off the road onto a small path.

Follow the path uphill, when you come to a fork, turn right and it will lead you to Swainswick Lane in about 10 meters.

Turn right onto Swainswick Lane and look immediately for a stile on the left.

Go through the stile and follow the path on the right hand side of the field to the top.

Go through the stile and take the right branch straight up to the trig point at the top of Solsbury Hill. (for a longer, gentler route up take the left fork to the top).

Turn left at the top to walk around the perimeter.

At the National Trust sign you'll see a steep path to the stile at the bottom of the hill. Go straight down the hill.

At the bottom of the hill turn left then look for a stile on the right taking you into a field.

Follow the field around the left perimeter until you come across a stile, go through and turn right.

Go through another stile almost immediately, then follow the path for a while past a residential house and down their driveway.

At the bottom of the drive turn right onto Bailbrook lane and follow the path down.

Cross Gloucester Road onto Ferndale Road, then left at the bottom onto St Saviour's Road which takes you into Larkhall village.

To get back to Alice Park turn down Upper Landbridge Street, left onto London Road and left again to Gloucester Road to Alice Park.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
