A ride out to the Wednesday Picnic at Knaresborough, travelling via Askham Bryan, where we met up with Mike Lovett and his group going to Thorpe Arch, we rode on with them as far as Long Marston, then on to Tockwith, Cowthorpe, Little Ribston. Here we caught up with and passed Alan Spence and Robin Hudson. We continued on to the first cafe by the river in Knaresborough. Where we both had a coffee and a bacon and egg roll and Jose shared half of his brownie with me. Which was delicious. Prior to this as we were ordering Alan and Robin rolled up. We sat socially distanced together and chatted. The waiter was very amiable and joined in on the conversation. After we had finished, we ventured up to the Castle gardens where several Wednesday Wheelers were congregated in a socially distanced way. We chatted for a while, had our group photo taken by Eamon and then departed. We headed back the same way we had come as far as Long Marston. Here we took the road to Hessay, the geographical centre of Yorkshire. We continued on the no through road to the unmanned level crossing where we were caught up by Keith Wells heading for Poppleton and home. We rode with him until he turned off and then carried on to Millfield Lane and Boroughbridge Road. Where we headed towards town. I left Jose at the junction with Water End and headed home. Arriving at about 15.30hrs.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
