A circular route over typical mixed Forest terrain. A French style gatehouse to Brockenhurst Park, a detour right into the Parish Churchyard of St Nicholas. The only Forest church mentioned in the Domesday Book. Commonwealth War graves and the Brusher Mills grave are worth a visit. The church porch contains information concerning the soldiers who lie in the churchyard. The Hindu soldiers were on the hill beyond, and are not remembered in the same way. Meerut Road near Balmer Lawn was named in their memory. The pub where you cross the A337 WITH CARE, used to be called The Hobler. In recognition of the men who kept watch on the coast in the C16. The path through the golf course is not signed. Go to the far side of the car park, take the path close to the right of the clubhouse, not through the trees between the cars.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
