Park by the Wool Centre in Aberfoyle and exit the car park to the east via the well signed and paved footpath along the old railway.
Follow this track till it reaches a minor road and continue down the road and over a narrow bridge.
Turn left along a minor road and at the end turn right along a major, busy road for about 100m. Take care.
Enter the grounds of Gartmore House through the lodge on your left.
Follow the road past the loch, up the hill and take the right turn before reaching the house.
Pass the Mews and keep to the left hand road up the hill past the sawmills. This lane leads to Gartmore.
Exit the grounds of Gartmore House via the Archway and an open gate.
Straight along Main Street and down the hill turning right up a track opposite Jellicoe Avenue.
At the end of the straight road a footpath leads off to the left and enters Wee Wood, a lovely community facility.
Before the end of the wood take a smaller path to the right which leads shortly to a gate into a field. The path goes forward across the field to another gate and wood and then to a T junction on a wide forest track.
Turn right and follow the track to a cross roads, turn left up the hill and follow this main track back into Aberfoyle, ignoring smaller tracks on left and right arriving eventually across the narrow bridge at the west end of the car park.
A decent enough 7 mile walk on fairly flat, well marked tracks and roads.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
