A weekend's worth of sublime cycling in Scotland's wildest corner. You'll feel like you're cycling off the edge of the map as you follow signs marked with ominous simplicity 'The North'. Past remote hunting lodges, to Scotland's most northerly Munro, through the evocatively named Kyle of Tongue and on towards Durness. Here, a ferry man takes you across to Cape Wrath where a 10 mile stretch of ragged tarmac takes you to the very point where Great Britain abruptly runs out and plunges into the Atlantic. You'll feel completely immersed in the wilderness that inspired these names all around you. On the next day weave your way south through the surreal and astounding desolate beauty of Sutherland to the town of Ullapool, which although a sleepy fishing town will feel like a metropolis after the last two days.
