This Gran fondo has been deliberately kept as flat-ish 🤪 as possible, but still very interesting, whilst also taking in the Blue Bell cafe after 35 miles.
However, I still wanted to get some scenic views and cracking lanes, so the 2nd half, after the cafe takes in my favourite Sandstone ridge, with just enough climbing to keep us all honest🤣 ( what I call the Roman hill- steady 8-16% ( Yeld lane ) At least we get to descend the steepest climb in the area ( infamous chapel hill🥵)
In addition the route passes several other cafe’s like Manley Mere and Rose farm and Walk mill, so there are options on where to stop. The whole route only 2750 ft. Could possibly get it down to 2500 without Roman hill and a few other tweaks.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
