Parking in the Glen car park off Pittencrieff St. the route follows the Fife Pilgrim Way past the Abbey and Carnegie's Birth Place to reach Limekilns Rd. via Forth St. Continue on Limekilns Rd. to a Farm track going left (sign-posted FPW) which should be followed right past some Farm buildings. The track continues to trend right and appears to be heading back to the Limekilns Rd. Before reaching the road the route (sign-posted FPW) kicks off left into woodland on a narrow muddy path which should be followed past Douglas Bank Cemetery (Pattismuir) to cross the Glasgow Rd. straight on to pick up the Fife Coastal Path through Limekilns, Charlestown,Crombie and Torryburn. On the outskirts of Torryburn on the edge of the car park the route ceases to follow the FCP and takes up the FPW going sharp right (easterly direction) along pavement past the Church and Graveyard to reach a load restricted bridge with traffic lights. Go through the gate here and follow the track to cross the A985 to pick up a narrow Rd. (Muirside Ln) leading to Cairnyhill. On reaching the eastern outskirts of The Village go left (opposite the Church) on a narrow track (Hilton Rd.) on the edge of a wood trending right to pass (via the bypass path) a Mansion House followed by Farm Buildings to reach Lundin Rd. Go straight over to pick up Kirkwood Cresc. then go left towards Knockhouse Farm. At the Farm go right along Berrylaw Rd (narrow muddy path) leading to William St. Cross over to continue on the FPW along Cameron St. taking a right on to Maitland St. Cross Pittencrieff St. to enter the Glen before heading back to the car park, a circuit of which should be completed to reach the planned 15 mile distance.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
