Hi John - Thanks for the advice. Garmin express can see the device, Garmin Connect can see the device, Garmin Training center cannot. Unfortunately Plotaroute, which I am really impressed with, comes up with a message "Sorry this Device is not Currently supported by our Garmin Download feature."
I am finding the Garmin software unreliable and overly complicated, it appears to be udergoing major changes. I am putting my hopes in plotaroute being able add the XT910 to the supportd Garmin Devices soon.

I'm not sure why the 910XT isn't compatible with the direct download facility, I'll need to look into that, but you should be able to transfer routes to it using the Garmin Training Center software. Select File -> Import to Current User Account -> Courses to import the file into Garmin Training Center, select it from the panel on the left and then click Send to Device to transfer it to your device.
I don't think you can do this with Garmin Connect as routes are downloaded from plotaroute.com as Garmin Course files and I don't think Garmin Connect can import courses, only recorded activities.

I am unable to transfer a route to a Forerunner 910XT. The facility to down laod direct to this device is not yet available. If I download to a file and try to Import into Garmin Connect there appears to be a problem with the file.
Hi Darren - Can you let me know what browser you are using please and if it's a Windows computer or a Mac? Also, can you check the following page, which tests to see if the plugin is installed and what version you have?

In the meantime, I would recommend clearing your browser's cache and restarting it to see if this helps.

Forgot to add its a 705 Garmin.
There seems to be a problem with the download directly to my Garmin. It tells me to install the Garmin Communicator when it is already installed. As such, i am unable to use this feature!
