In terms of IT skills, the audience for my walks is very diverse. Many are most comfortable with being handed a PDF. For example, the local Communty Rail Partnership asked me to provide PDFs for their website:

There are several unwelcome consequences of this:
My suggestion is that a PDF link is provided for 'Sharing' in addition to the existing link which goes directly to the route page. This would enable the Community Rail Partnership website (and others) to quote the link to Plotaroute rather than storing PDFs. I would suggest that all of the printing parameters are under the control of the route author on a route by route basis. In this way, the author can ensure that the best values for their particular route are set thus providing the audience with consistent output and shielding people from lots of unexpected choices. If someone wants more control they can, after all, go via the route page and produce the PDF for themselves.
