Hi Dominic,
There is no way to save labels custom labels in the Route Profile tool, but any labels added to the directions when editing the route in the route planner will be shown automatically in the Route Profile tool, so the best solution is to add them there. Alternatively, if you click the SHARE button in the Route Profile tool you'll get a link that can be used to reload the route route profile with any settings you chose, including custom labels, so you could keep a copy of that link somewhere.
Directions or custom labels can be added in the route profile tool (through "Explore Hills in More Detail"). This is particularly useful for adding climb start/finish info. In the Guide - " How to download a route's elevatoin profile" it clealry states that labels can be added using this tool before downloading. But there are no instructions on how to save the custom lables. Is it possible to do this?
Yes, you're probably right Mark - the word "Edit" may be superfluous and confusing. Thanks for the feedback.
The process to add a direction is fairly straightforward. The instructions are clear:
Drag the "Edit" marker to where you want to add directions (or use the Playback Slider) then click the button below
where the "button" says "Add directions here".
However, when dragging the marker (without re-reading the above!), one's first instinct is to click the marker, as it says "Edit", after all. Of course, nothing happens. The same with clicking the "info" icon.
Not sure what to suggest other than a renaming of the marker, or maybe a removal of the "Edit" & "info" icon to just leave a marker with the hand.
Just a thought.
Mark
