Thanks for that feedback Martyn. For now, you can get more control over zoom levels by using the Print With Browser option, as you can ajdust the map how you like before printing.

The scale selected for the map in a PDF print does not always accommodate labels that are placed to the left of a point. They are truncated at the edge of the map instead.
