It depends whether you're trying to make the route shorter or longer. You can use the Shorten Route tool to crop the route. To make it longer you just need to drag the start marker out to the new position (turn the Auto-Plot switch on first). You can use the Reshape Route tool to tweak it afterwards.
You can see examples of this in our tutorial video on editing routes, which demonstrates some of the main editing functions.

i'm trying to move the start point on a route but when i click on the icon to move the start point the green dot does not come up, so i can not move the start point. can anybody help me with this problem.
