I'm increasingly taking outdoor routes and replaying the resulting gpx file on an start trainer (Scottish climate, say no more). Also, there are apps like bigringvr that sync gps & video to allow you to video cycle a route located half way round the world. Gps data, especially elevation is never perfect, so there is a opportunity to "correct/resample" captured gpx files for reuse with a smart trainer.
A more practical request ...it would be useful if i could plot a route and then have the exported gpx file have a track point every "x" metres. x=10 would be a good start. Not sure on the resolution of data used by plotaroute - but avoiding elevation interpolation artifacts would be really neat.

Thanks for this suggestion John. That's useful to know that there's another use case for adding points to an exported route. It's certainly something we'd like to be able to add to the site at some point. I've amended the Feature Request that Peter mentioned so that it also refers to indoor trainers.
Please vote for this on our feature requests list (number 27) if this is a feature you would like us to develop.
