Thanks Guys
I am pleased that my suggestion got a response, if we get a result, thats great, but I am still more than happy with the current version of Plotaroute.
Cheers

Well, that's a surprise. Ordinarily, I simply use Ctrl+s in other software and never even think of looking for a button.
In Plotaroute for some reason I've never even tried Ctrl+s - perhaps because it's a bit long-winded and doesn't look like it would work ie be a simple quick save.
In that case, how about reassigning Ctrl+s to be the quick save ?
As most software uses it for exactly that, it would cause less confusion to users generally, instead of it meaning different things on different software
We're already using CTRL+S for the standard save option. It should show this in the tooltip when you hover over SAVE but for some reason it's not - we'll look into that. We were thinking maybe a right-click on the SAVE option for a quick save would be the best solution.
How about Ctrl+s ? That's the standard "save" option in almost every piece of software I've ever used, so no button would be needed ...
Hi Leigh - thanks for your kind comments about the site. Glad you're enjoying using it. And thanks for the Quick Save suggestion. That's a good idea. I think the main problem is that we already have so many buttons on that page and we want to try to keep the user interface simple. The only way to reduce them is to hide some, but this then requires extra mouseclicks to see them, which makes it harder to use, so we try to avoid this. We'll have a think about design options. In the meantime, I've added the suggestion to our Feature Requests list (number 103) where people can vote for it.
Hi guys, still really enjoying using Plotaroute to plan my motorcycle trips. Some are quite large, over thousands of kilometers, and it is the easiest and best software yet.
One thing that I think would be a bonus would be a Quick Save button on the desktop somewhere, that would save the planned route while in the process of being created. I would save the work once with all the detail, name etc, and from then on the Quick Save button would keep saving the work to that file unless a new file was started.
Does this make sense? I have lost work after doing a number of edits and forgetting to Save before logging off or closing the file.
Cheers
Leigh
