We've implemented a few changes today to make it easier to manage Route Collections, following various suggestions and feedback we've received. Our Route Collections feature enables you to create a collection of related routes that can all be shown together on the same map, e.g. triathlons, multi-day hikes, alternative routes.
The key changes are as follows:
If you would like to find about more about Route Collections, take a look at the following How-To Guide: How to show two or more routes on the same map.
....and if you want to edit a route from the list of "my routes" you now need to select the"edit" option from a sub-menu where before you could do this direct from the presented list of routes, more key-clicks on the site that just likes to add to more key-clicks to what should be simple one click functions.
Surely it would not have been too much trouble to have left this option or made the "ID" a hyperlink to edit-mode in the same way you have made the "Route Name" a link to view the route?
Thanks, great. I really like the collection feature, but it has been a little hidden before.
Today I group my routes by tagging by starting point and long/short. I will probably change to or add grouping by collection as this will give the overview directly.
GREAT, Thanks!!!! :)
"the My Routes page now allows you to quickly see which collections a route has been added to"
Is this possible to also add in mobile view?
Yes, thanks Peter, we can look at adding that to the mobile too.
Hi Peter - I've just realised you can already see which collections a route has been added to when you select "Add to Collection". I'm not sure there is a need for another button, or indeed space!
Hi, I meant in the list itself to be able to see if a route is in a collection in the same way as you can see if tags are added, icon and number. I've a lot of space on my small mobile after tag icon.
It would be great to get the overview to be sure that all routes you want is included in a collection.
Sorry Peter, I'd misunderstood - we'll look at doing that.
Thanks collection icon in route list. It makes it much easier to see if all routes filtered are added to appropriate collection. Perfect.
