Wahoo, awesome!
It's so great for my lagging Garmin fenix 5x/6x.
I've been totaly dependent of the built in pre-warnings, cause standard tbt always are 20-30 m behind. This is something many Garmin watch users would appreciate.
We're very pleased to announce another great new feature that we've just introduced - Shift Route Directions. This new feature will be useful for anyone who wants to download routes in TCX or FIT format, so that they can be used with GPS devices for route navigation.
The Shift Route Directions feature moves all route directions back by a small distance, so that alerts appear before reaching a turn or waypoint. This can give you more time to prepare for manoeuvres, particularly if you're cycling quite fast! It's available as an option when you download a route in a course file format. With the addition of this new feature, you can now choose between two different approaches to warn you of approaching turns and waypoints:
Turn Warnings - adds an additional course point a set distance before any turn
Shift Directions - shifts all directions back by a set distance (doesn't require additional course points).
As some GPS devices have a limit on the number of course points they will accept, the Shift Route Directions feature offers a useful way to get early warnings of approaching turns without adding extra course points. It also avoids any potential confusion caused by alerts both ahead of a junction and when you arrive at it, particularly if your device is slow at reacting to changes in your GPS position.
The idea for this new feature came from a discussion on our forums, so thanks for suggesting this - we think it's a great idea and we hope you'll find it useful.
