Any one know how to look up the 50 mile route for 2019s hotter than hell bike ride?
Ah, my bad! I plotted a short, route which takes less than an hour after many months. Was used to seeing the hh:mm:ss format for a long long time. Forgot that hours are not dislayed if they agree zero. Perhaps that's a feature you can consider adding 😀
Thanks for pointing it out.
Hi Milind - Thanks for the additional information. There doesn't seem to be a problem though - 36:53 is 36 minutes and 53 seconds, which is the correct estimated completion time for this route.

Hi John
How do I attach a file? I have taken a screen shot of the timer showing just hh:mm. Anyway the same problem is with my another route, id no. 888731. The timer shows 36:53. I use Firefox.
Hi Milind,
I'm not sure what happened to your other post, as this didn't come through on our system. Thanks for the additional infornmation though. I can't seem to be able to reproduce the problem here, so it's possible that it only happens with certain browsers or routes. Can you let me know what browser you are using please and which route you are editing?
Thanks,
John
Hi John
I had responded to your post with my comments. I had also tried to attach a screenshot showing the timer in hh:mm. What I did was to just click on the Timer button in the menu in the lower right corner. The time displayed in the upper right panel is in the hh:ssformat. I am unable to attach the screenshot again. Wonder what happened to my earlier post!
Hi Milind - we haven't changed this, the timer should still show both minutes and seconds. Can I ask where you seeing the timer without the seconds displayed?
John
Has the functionality of displaying the seconds in the route timer been removed? Not a big deal for longer distanes, but if you are comparing performance over shorter distances the seconds do matter!
All seems really good to me, and I haven't managed to find any issue with the edit functions, even when trying to deliberately break them. Similarly, the download functions on plotaroute are the slickest I've seen on any app when considering the configuration available. I don't even have to save the route (and often don't if I'm just throwing something together on the mobile to port over using Garmin Connect) - it's right there bottom right; click download, set toggle switches as desired, then download.
Cheers John!
We appreciate that there have been quite a few changes in this latest update that may take a little while to adjust to but we hope that once accustomed to them you'll find the route planner much easier to use. We can certainly look into further changes to address any specific problems though, but can't rollback individual elements as the changes are part of a package. The following tips may help with some of the revised features:
Toolbar
This contains all the same features that were previously accessed by clicking on the toolkit icon in the corner of the map, as well as the Annotate Map tool which was previously accessed by clicking on the pencil icon in the corner of the map. If you hover your mouse over each tool you'll get a description of what each one does. We've found that we quickly got used to where the tools were that we used most often and this made them much quicker to access.
Editing a section of the route
The best tool to use to do this is the Replot Section tool (the 5th one down in the toolbar). This works exactly the same way as the Drag Mode did when it was used with the Auto-Plot switch on; the only difference is that with the Replot Section tool you select the section of the route you want to edit by clicking on it to place the green and red selection markers (to do this move your mouse over the line of the route until it changes to a hand icon and then click). You can then drag the selection markers or use the selection slider (at the bottom of the map) to adjust their positions if you need to (as you did with the Drag Mode).
If you used to use the Drag Mode with the Auto-Plot switch off, the new Drag Points feature (the 6th tool down in the toolbar) works in exactly the same way.
You can also consider using the Shorten Route tool (the 7th one down) to crop the route back to when you want to start making changes and then replot the route to the end again - this can sometimes be easier if the changes you want to make are complicated or close to the end of the route.
I'd also suggest having a look at our video tutorial on editing routes - this has been revised to demonstrate the new version of the route planner, so may help with adjusting to the changes.
