Looking at the description on the websites, it doesn't look like Cyclope will guide the rider around a plotted route. I didn't see any mention of guidance nor of audio guidance.
The Cyclope bike app is great too. It allows, in addition to the classic functions of a cycle computer, to connect the cyclists in them. You can know the position of the other runners, have the time difference, communicate by voice like the professionals with their headset.

Thanks Colin, i'll try it
You can use Bike Tracker for cycling but you can also use if for walking etc. too. You can create a different profile for walking etc and select from front screen. Of course, for walking cross country you'll need to amend the directions to suit. Whatever you type, Bike Tracker will read out.
This is what I use. No need to set the Directions or Turn warnings as Bike Tracker handles it
Hallo, I try to use Bike tracker (PC Ability) in combination with Plotaroute for planning. Which is the best TCX setting there? No turns?
For anyone interested in following routes using audio, there is a new version of Bike Tracker ( v1 1 30 ), released on 2nd January 2019, and that "Distance Remaining" / "miles left in route" bug is now fixed
In Google Play the best way I've found to find Bike Tracker is to search for Bike Tracker PC Ability
It now offers miles & yards, as an alternative to miles & feet (and kilometers & metres, of course)
Also, it now handles routes stored in folders on the phone much better. For example, routes in different UK counties or in different countries, which means that my long list of routes to select from is now much neater
Thanks for sharing this Colin.
John
For years I've been using an app on an Android phone to listen to turn by turn instructions for the routes I plotted. Just one earpiece and with the screen turned off.
I've always used Track Navigator. It only guides along plotted routes, nothing else. It's very simple, it's free and works really well. I export .gpx routes from Plotaroute.
However, there is also another app which I am surprised I've only just stumbled across. It's called BIKE TRACKER. It's only on Android, it's free, it guides along plotted routes BUT it can also output information of your choice along the way. It focuses on cycling but there's no reason not to use it for other activities. You need to use .tcx files from Plotaroute
This is a very flexible app with a lot of help text and it's all put together by the excellent Steve Punter of PC Ability.
You need to know the following as there is more than one app called Bike Tracker ...

Finally, to make it easier for anyone to get started, I created a Quick Start Guide and pulled all the help text together to make it easier for me to read - and pasted it all on the Bike Tracker Support Group. Go straight to the help text here ...
