The latest upgrade to plotaroute.com, which was released today, introduces our new Universal Search feature. Using a simple search box at the top of most pages on the site, you can now quickly search for routes, other users of the site or places where routes have been mapped, all from the one search box. Matching suggestions will appear as you type but you can also press the search button and head off to our brand new Search page. From here you can see more detailed search results, which you can sort and page through to find what you want.
We want to make it as easy as possible to find what you're looking for on the site, so these changes are aimed at helping to do this. Obviously you can still also search for routes on a map as before.
We pleased to say that the new Universal Search feature is available on both the desktop and mobile versions of the site.
The Universal Search does not seem to work if you enter the ID number of a route. Would it be possible to add this form of search to it? At the present time one has to go through four stages to arrive at the ID box on the Filter Routes page.
Thanks for this suggestion Terrence. I think it should be possible for us to add this. We'll look into it.

I'm pleased to say that we were able to implement this suggestion very quickly. You can now enter a Route ID in the Universal Search box to quickly find a route by its ID. Thanks again for suggesting this.

Just tried it out, excellent, just made the website even better.
