I have looked through the topics in the forum and havent seen anything posted. What i am trying to suggest is when i plot a motorcycle route using interstates, then smaller roads that add up to a 500KM route it would be great to get an idea on how long this 500 KM route should take to travel. Kind of like in google maps when you ask for directions from point A to point B.
what i would like to see is something similar to what you see in google maps based on the motorcycle route i have plotted.
The travel time would be based on the speed limits of the roads selected. This would be a huge help when plotting a long distance trip and would like to create daily routes based on knowing that this 500 KM route is going to take me 7 hours because of this and other factors.
thanks!
Hi Frank - I'm afraid the site isn't designed to handle speed limits, so that's why the Route Timer doesn't currently cater for motorcycles. As the main purpose of the site is for walking, running and cycling (which are not affected by speed limits), I'm not sure if we would want to take it in that direction, but if we did I think we'd probably need to develop a complete solution for motor vehicle routing, so not something that is likely to happen soon I'm afraid.
John
Ok thanks for your quick reply John. Still a great site to use as you can see with all the routes i have plotted!
Appreciate your hard work.
