I want to plot a hiking route between points of interest that I have in a Google map. I have a .gpx file containg the points of interest. I am hoping that I can import them so I can see them on the plotaroute.com map, and then use them to define the route I want plotted by clicking on the ones I want. Can I import layers of points of interest? If so, how?
Hi Kevin, you can import routes from GPX files, including waypoints, but not waypoints on their own. Our route ploanner doesn't support the concept of layers I'm afraid.
You might find our "Plot With Waypoints" feature useful though. This lets to define a route by manually placing up to ten waypoints on the map. This feature can be found under the Plot menu in the routre planner.

Thanks, John. I'll try the manual plot with waypoints method. When I am in that mode, I have tried to use the search box to enter the address for a waypoint thinking it should put that waypoint on the map, but nothing happens when I search on the address. How should this work? Is the only way to establish a waypoint to manually click on the map?
