Hi Anthony - it's possible that you may have accidentally denied location permissions for the website. Open plotaroute again and select Settings for this Website from the Safari menu. The Location setting needs to be Allow or Ask. If that doesn't work I'd recommend trying a different browser like Chrome.
Hi
As part of my ongoing recovery from heart surgery I have been challenged to swim the distance of a cross channel swim.
I have managed to set up the challenge, ID 1571, however I am unable to Check In.
All I get is the spinning wheel indicating that the page is refreshing itself. I am using a Mac computer running macOS Mojave 10.14.6. I am using the Safari browser.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?
Thanks for your support.
Thansk for the further feedback Ian.
The average speed is the speed from the previous check-in. Your check-ins were very close toegther, so that's why it appears that you were moving at super-human speeds!
I'll add your suggestion about showing average pace as well as average speed to the list to enhancements to consider when we next revisit this.
The reason we chose to show 'time ago' rather than actual time for the check-ins is that it avoids issues of different date formats for different countries. Also, research has shown that people can interpret this more easily, although in some cases actual dates may still be better.
Yes, you won't be able to check-in on your mobile device while off-track. We didn't add the same map functionality to the mobile check-in for two reasons - partly because this would be very fiddly on a small screen and partly because it would involve downloading a lot of data to the phone, which could incur high mobile phone charges if you are not using WiFi, particularly if your challenge is abroad.

nice one, looking good :)
I've now been able to do 3 check-ins via the desktop, each time dragging the marker to a position further along the track, and those check-ins are being recorded.
Would you be able to comment on:
I still can't check in from my mobile though, is this because it recognizes (correctly) that I am off track? Should I be able to drag a marker on a map the same as on the desktop site?
Thanks for flagging these up Ian. Both should be fixed now. Sorry about that.
John
WHen attempting to check-in on a desktop using chrome, there are 2 issues:
