It would be really nice if the option to download to Garmin devices would work through garmin express or garmin basecamp. I much preferthe Plot a Route programme and its maps are up to date unlike basecamp that does not show numerous minor roads and tracks.
Please could you sort out the interface.
I'm afraid this one is out of our hands. The direct download to Garmin devices uses a browser plugin called Garmin Communicator and as browsers are phasing out support for plugins, Garmin has decided not to update its Garmin Communicator plugin to be compatible with computers running Garmin Express. However, you can download routes from plotaroute.com as GPS files, which you can then import to Garmin Basecamp and transfer to your device.
If think the only way we could set up a direct interface from plotaroute, com to a Garmin device would be to develop our own Garmin transfer software, which would need to be dwonloaded and installed on your computer. I'm not sure how viable this is but if there are any software developers who think they might be able to help with this please get in touch.

Hi,
Thanks for your response. I note that you suggest using a GPS format to transfer files to a garmin sat nav. However in your download menu it does not offer a GPS option. Is there another method I should use to get your routes into GPS format?
Thanks
Hi Eric - After clicking Download you should see an option to choose between GPS or Image. If you select GPS, you can then choose the format of the GPS file you want - TCX, GPX or KML. I recommend choosing TCX as includes any directions that you may have as coursepoints.

Any help will be hugely appreciated
