I don't see that option, but thanks for getting back to me.
Do you have Turn Guidance enabled in the Settings James? This is a setting on the Edge 800 but the Edge 200 may not have the same settings. Might be a question for Garmin's forums rather than here.
Ok. I downloaded the TCX file to my Garmin Edge, with turning points. But my Garmin Edge 200 didn't give me any warnings when I just tried to use the course. Is this likely to be a Garmin Edge 200 issue...?
Thanks
Great, thanks.
Hi James - you'll need to select TCX or FIT as the download format, then the Turn Warnings option will be available. You can choose how far in advance of the turn you want the warning to appear. If you don't want advance turn warnings at all, set the turn warning distance to zero.
I'm new to this, but I can't see any option for turn warnings when I try to download a route. Can you explain how to do this? Thanks.
Turn warnings feature seems to have changed over the years. The dialog is different from that shown in this post. I have built a route around my local streets so there are lots of turns. When I try to download a Garmin .fit file I'm warned that there are 176 directions and a further 174 if I opt to add turn warnings. There is no obvious way to remove the turn warnings. Then it hit me! Set the turn warning distance to 0, and the turn warning count changes to 0. And now my .fit file works. I have just found Plotaroute in the last week, and it is SO EASY to use. Much more useful than anything else I've found. Thank you.
I love that this feature has made it to release - thank you!!
Nice!
Get your GPS to prompt you when a turn is coming up so that you don't overshoot it - the latest upgrade to plotaroute.com adds the option of including turn warnings when downloading a route for use on GPS devices or apps with route navigation capabilities. This has been one of the most requested features you have asked us to add, so we are very pleased to be able to make this available.
Turn warnings are available with TCX and CRS format files, as well as direct downloads to Garmin devices that support these formats. When you download your route you'll be asked whether you would like to include turn warnings and how far before each turn you want them to be made. Turn warnings will appear in the same way as other directions on your GPS device, prefixed with the distance to the turn, e.g. "50 m - Turn left into High Street".
