Hi Tracey - thanks for your nice feedback.
The interval between the distance markers is automatically calculated based on the length of the route - longer routes have bigger intervals between the distance markers, so that you the route doesn't get hidden by the markers. Someone has already asked if we can add an option to override this, so this is on our feature request list and is something we hope to look into doing at some point.

Hi John, thanks for this great tool.
I may be missing some setting but is it possible to show distance traveled on the route itself in 10 or 20 km incriments?
