HI Roger - we've refreshed our elevation data for this region and I think it should hopefully look better now.

Hi there, plotaroute seems to struggle with a GPX file for an upcoming race.  The file seems to be handled correctly by Garmin / Strava / Google / MyGPSFiles / sunearthtools etc.  The GPX file is here.

The issue is that several sections of the elevation profile show the route as being perfectly-flat (horizontal) instead of smooth rises/descents etc, e.g:

    • The interruption between 50.040km and 50.580km of an otherwise-smooth climb
    • Between 7.110km and 7.470km, the course has been made completely flat (horizontal)
    • Between 68.490-69.840km, the course has been made completely flat (horizontal)
    • Between 77.760m-78.300km, the course has been made completely flat (horizontal)

I've tried with a few variations of this route, but plotaroute has the same issues in the same locations each time.  Given that other sites/tools seem to handle this file correctly, I wonder if there is a problem with the maps used for this area near Sydney in New South Wales?

    Regards,
    Roger
