    How Do I get my voice activation to work beyond telling me I'm either "off route" or it's "obtaining a signal"? After that nothing!

    Hi Philip,

    Voice prompts for navigation should be heard as you approach one of the turns in the route directions. If the route doesn't have any directions with turns saved with it you wouldn't get any voice prompts though, as it reads the text in the directions. You need to have Voice Navigation turned on in the Navigation Settings and you'll also need to be heading in the correct direction on the route within a set distance from the turn, as voice prompts are generated when you approach a turn. You can change this distance in the Navigation Settings. See the following guide for more on this:  How To Navigate A Route Using The Plotaroute App

    If your position is constantly off-route, it may be that you have accidentally denied location permisison for plotaroute.com. You can check this as follows:

    • Android - go to plotaroute.com in Chrome, click the menu icon in the top right, select Settings then Site Settings and Location and check that the Location switch is on and that plotaroute.com is not listed as blocked. 

    • iPhone - go to www.plotaroute.com in Safari, click the AA icon in the address bar, select Website Settings and check that the Location setting is either Ask or Allow.

    Is it possible to see my location (my GPS arrow) on a route together with for ex. a planned route including POI's. As soon as I activate NAVIGATION all POI's disappears. I'm using this app professionally as a helicopter director / operator trying to film POI's on a planned route / ski track and have a hard time finding my targets in relation of my own position. // Toby VISMA SKI CLASSICS

    Hi Toby,

    At present I'm afraid we're unable to display custom labels and symbols you've added to the map during navigation, as it creates issues issues with map rotation, but we'll look into possible solutions.

    Hi there, I love Plot A Route. But on the map screen on the mobile app the position indicator is hard to spot. Is there any option to customise it to make it stand out more?

    Upgraded my account so I could get voice prompts. However the site kept losing signal and re-booting causing voice activation to turn off. Total waste of money as had to keep phone in hand for whole 10 mile route! 
    Would like a refund please.

    Sorry you didn't have a good experience with the voice prompts. This is currently a BETA feature and we're hoping to replace it with a native app solution at some point. We've cancelled your Premium membership and arranged a refund as requested.

    Is it possible to increase "turn notice" beyond 100 yrds? Recommend 500 yards maximum.

    Thanks for the suggestion Brian. We may be able to increase it a bit but the more we increase it the harder it is to select smaller distances, so I doubt we could increase it  by that much without needing a redesign of these settings.

    I upgraded to premium to take advantage of the voice prompts, but the feature doesn't even merit Beta status.

    I had to turn off/on the speech slider multiple times as it repeatedly stopped working, but even when it does work the message to turn left is something like "speech, voice name equals com apple eloquence and us eddy, voice navigation activated, voice speak, turn left" by the time it gets to the instruction you've already passed the junction.

    Added to that all voices seem to sound the same regardless of selection, which makes the long list of options a trifle disingenuous.

    Can you arrange a refund of my premium membership please?

    I upgraded to premium this morning purely for the voice navigation. It didn't work once on the 14k route I plotted. Have been trying it on and off all day but it does not work for me. Please issue a full refund. Thank you.
